As the Climate Control Lead, you will be an integral member of our team in helping to craft and shape a critical system for the electric vehicle experience in this emerging business area.
Key Responsibilities:
Aligned to human-centric product development, design and implement climate control solutions that optimize the vehicle experience while engaged with electrified vehicles
Work closely and collaboratively with team members and suppliers to design and develop a climate control system that meets functional, cost, quality, and timing objectives specific to electrified vehicles
Hardware/software solutions along with development for the next generation of electrified vehicle’s operation
Organize control logics to ensure all systems and components communicate seamlessly with each other
Validate new designs and test systems
Work closely with purchasing to ensure designs are released within lead times for parts procurement to meet production schedules
Work closely with production control to release major projects into the manufacturing process
Seeks out opportunities to continuously improve current product
Document new designs and design modifications with appropriate drawings, BOM requests and project release paperwork. Includes system specification updates.
Perform complex troubleshooting with on-site production team or remote troubleshooting of network with field service team
Maintain current knowledge of system offerings and emerging design technologies in the electrified vehicle industry
Develop a culture of creativity and accountability – solve problems in new ways while keeping organizational commitments; establish appropriate cadence for reviews to maintain progress and resolve issues, all while maintaining an agile and adaptive working style promoting initiative, accountability, and quick iteration learning and revision
Challenge actively (constructively) and voice relevant concerns; coach and teach others on the team to engage constructively in meetings and encourage vibrant discourse
Job Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
4+ years of vehicle climate control systems experience
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of vehicle climate control systems experience, preferably with electrified vehicles
Comfortable working in white-space emerging business areas dependent on innovation, creativity, and business models that are new to the Company, and new to our industry
Exceptional analytical and presentation skills
Strong, effective communication skills used to clearly explain and understand options and solutions to reach optimal design and engineering results
Ability to utilize business sense and creativity to develop new ideas and solutions
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
Ability to collaborate with team members across different skill teams, both internally and externally
Comfortable performing duties and delivering results with minimal supervision
