Position Description/Overview:
Ford Motor Company's Global Data, Insight, and Analytics (GDIA) organization is looking for a motivated, high-potential Analytics Scientist to perform data mining, analytics, segmentation and modeling work as a member of the Dealer Distribution Analytics team in GDIA. This role will work on building advanced models to understand dealer behavior, and report results in appropriate forums.

Responsibilities:


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Utilize statistical software (e.g., SAS, Matlab, R, Python) to develop models, forecasts, segmentation/cluster, and optimization algorithms
  • Easily accustomed to new software tools (e.g., Alteryx, QlikView, ArcGIS, AnyLogic, Tableau)
  • Proficient in Data Carpentry skills - work with various data sources and platforms (e.g., PC, Hadoop, Teradata) to compile data and investigate anomalies within the data
  • Maintain models and algorithms on an ongoing basis
  • Execute both descriptive and inferential ad hoc requests in a timely manner
  • Work closely with business customers, IT, and other analytical teams within the GDIA organization
  • Communicate and present models to business customers and executives

Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Physics, or similar technical field
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing statistical and econometric; (i.e., logistic regression, time series, seasonal adjustments, systems dynamics)
  • 3+ years of experience managing multiple projects within a specified timeframe
  • 3+ years of experience using one or more of the following software programs: Python, R, MATLAB, SQL, and/or SAS
  • 3+ years of experience translating complex quantitative methods into business insights and presenting to a non-technical audience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing multiple projects and working independently
  • 1+ years of experience working in the automotive industry manipulating large scale data, performing analysis, and building statistical models
  • 1+ years of experience in an analytics consulting capacity is desirable.
  • Prefer experience with using machine learning or simulation methods
  • Strong interest in creating solutions to problems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies
