Job Summary:
Ford Motor Company is seeking self-driven and creative individuals who are interested in the field of Software and Mobile Development. This position is located at the Ford Research and Innovation Center, is a technology research facility in Palo Alto, California. The center focuses on cutting-edge technologies and development of Autonomous Vehicles, IoT/Connectivity, Software, and Mobility innovations.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build advanced applications for the iOS platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and create innovative user experiences
  • Develop prototypes quickly to validate interactions and prove product designs
  • Optimize applications for usability and modularity
  • Build libraries and frameworks that support externally developed client applications
  • Create public-facing documentation to support external and internal customers
  • Work independently in an ambiguous research environment
  • May be responsible for direct delivery of applications as initial assignment
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field
  • 1+ years of experience with Objective-C or Swift, iOS SDK, and Xcode, college experience acceptable
  • 1+ years of experience with OO programming and design patterns, college experience acceptable
  • 1+ years of experience with code versioning tools (especially git and GitHub)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Science in Computer Science or related field
  • Knowledge of UI and animation frameworks
  • Strong foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
  • Experience with web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML, GraphQL).
  • A natural curiosity and desire to understand and even contribute to the entire technology stack
  • Evidence of intellectual depth as evidenced by external publications and/or patents
  • Knowledge of memory management and multi-threading
  • Good sense of UI design and a user-oriented focus
  • Excellent written and oral communication
