Position Duties:

  • Support Manufacturing Controls Engineering activity for engine assembly and/or engine component machining
  • Use FIS (factory information system) Plant monitoring software to review cycle times and availability of equipment and use this data to develop and implement equipment improvements
  • Troubleshoot PLC, robots and other automation and equipment problems
  • Update program backups for automation/CNC machines/test equipment/robots/etc.
  • Program new installations of machining and assembly equipment
  • Reprogram automation for engineering changes and improvements
  • Identify replacements and create implementation plans for controls equipment obsolescence
  • Identify and implement controls solutions to improve safety, quality and delivery
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot all assembly/machining equipment, and continuously evaluate for improvement to quality and delivery
  • Siemens programming, and RS Logix
  • Experienced in laser burning
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
  • Fundamental working knowledge of PLC logic and controls experience
  • Familiarity with VFD’s, servos, encoders, network/Ethernet controls, robot programming
  • Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of electrical or controls experience
  • 1+ year experience in Microsoft office

Preferred requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering
  • ABB robot experience
  • Strong problem solving skills, including 8Ds, FMEAs, and DMAICs
  • CNC programing
  • Experience with visions systems including Cognex
  • Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping experience
  • FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experience
  • Visual Factory Management experience
  • Electrical Background (electrician or technician) experience
  • Ability to read prints, AutoCAD, interpret and modify electrical schematics
  • Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.
