Job Description Position Overview/Description: The City Solutions team works with cities to make Ford part of the broader urban transportation ecosystem and develop smart, customized, multimodal solutions to change the way the world moves. As a Summer Intern, you will own a project that directly informs the team’s understanding of market development opportunities and business pilots in one of the company’s most innovative divisions.
Responsibilities:
Conduct transportation system design research in city of tomorrow challenge cities
Translate challenge qualitative and quantitative research into transportation system design concepts
Convey challenge information through graphic design for digital and print materials
Develop strategy for scalable approach to community led design research for Ford’s emerging mobility services
Participate regularly in team meetings and design sessions
Support team’s use of new design tools and techniques for insight generation
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Graphic Design portfolio
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Must be willing to relocate to SE Michigan for the duration of the internship
Preferred Qualifications:
Pursuing Master’s Degree in Transportation or Interactive Design
Strong aptitude for critical thinking and analysis – able to translate strategic plans into executable actions
