Job Summary:
Ford Motor Company is seeking self-driven and creative individuals who are interested in the field of Artificial Intelligence/Robotics, specifically natural language processing applications (e.g. enterprise Chatbot, Digital Assistant). The ideal individual loves to solve challenging problems and will not stop until a solution meets all the requirements. Attention to detail is imperative. The individual can work independently as well as collaboratively with a diverse and talented group of internal researchers, engineers, and inventors.

This position is located at the Ford Research and Innovation Center, is a technology research facility in Palo Alto, California. The center focuses on cutting-edge technologies and development of Autonomous Vehicles, IoT/Connectivity, Software, and Mobility innovations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop cognitive application prototypes that solve issues using leading AI technology frameworks
  • Optimize NLU model by implementing NLP systems, performing intent classification and entity extraction, and user testing
  • Develop and maintain digital conversational flows, dialog
  • Research, Architect, Prototype, and Test Dialogue Management system and Natural Language Generator
  • Connect to data source (e.g. multiple xml documents) and query database
  • Collaborate with research teams working on a variety of deep learning and NLP problems
  • Produce documentation to update and influence various levels of management about overall project status

Required Qualifications:
  • BS in Computer Science
  • 2+ years of experience in the fields of Natural Language Processing, Dialog System, Contextual Understanding, Machine Learning
  • 3+ years of experience with C++, Python, C#, Java and/or Node.js
  • 1+ years of experience in one or more AI platform, e.g. IBM Watson, Microsoft Azure, Google Api.Ai, Facebook Wit.Ai, Microsoft Bot Framework

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with developing and training neural network models
  • Experience in human-centric design deliverables and execution of the design thinking approach
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning technologies or familiarity with state-of-the-art deep learning toolkits
  • Desire and ability to work in a rapid development environment
  • Possess strong technical communication skills (both verbal and written) and be able to apply these skills to convey technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • General understanding of Deep Learning
  • Strong understanding of REST calls and can read/write documentation
