Job Description

Position Overview/Description:
Develop solution architecture designs engaging engineering teams, vendors and customers to insure solutions align to Ford Business, Information/Data, Application and Technology Architecture Standards. The successful candidate will be consulting with the IT programs and projects providing Value Creation @ Market Speed aligning to IT Blueprints and Reference Architectures in a Product Driven Organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide the project teams in arriving the appropriate solution that meets the user requirements and at the same time maintains the Ford IT Architecture Standards and Principles
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining good working relationship with the project teams, BIT and AD management supporting a product driven organization
  • Participate in AAA (Adaptable Architecture Assurance), HIR (Hosting Infrastructure Review), SOR (Service Opportunity Review) reviews and Solution definition Service requests
  • Conduct Architecture Assessment Events and vendor evaluations
  • Contribute towards creation of new reference architectures or updating existing reference architectures
  • Consult with other Architects and engineering teams when their specialized knowledge is needed
  • Review SDM Architecture related documents
  • Develop high-level architecture for applications
  • Work with the project teams to evaluate product vendors and SaaS opportunities
  • Responsible for mid-size to large projects / programs
  • May lead a technical team of architects
  • Prepare technical presentations and present to IT management / project teams whenever required
  • Should have acquired any technical certification related to Architecture
  • Should be adept in preparing and making technical presentations
  • Should be adept in preparing technical documents
Should have excellent communication skills, flexibility to accommodate working across different time zones and sensitivity to cultural and geographical differences.

Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8+ Years of progressive experience within IT Solution Architecture
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of JAVA / J2EE development experience
  • 8+ years of experience with XML, EJB, Servlets, JSP JDBC
  • 8+ years of experience with WSAD/ RSA / Eclipse
  • 8+ years of experience with WebSphere application server or equivalent (Weblogic, JBOSS, Glassfish)
  • 5+ years of experience in UML
  • 5+ years of experience with Struts (MVC) framework
  • 5+ years of experience with Object Oriented Analysis and design concepts
  • 5+ years Web Services Design / Development experience
  • 5+ years’ experience with Cryptography, Authentication, Authorization, Single Sign On, Message Level Security
  • 5+ years of experience in (SQL / ORACLE / DB2 / SQL server)
  • Exposure in creation/modification of Application Infrastructure Landscape/footprint
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and provide technical guidance and/or solutions
  • Exposure to MS-Visio, Excel, MS Sharepoint
  • Exposure in developing interfaces / integration of applications with Legacy and/or Niche systems like MainFrame, SAP
  • Knowledge about Software Change Management (SCM) tools
  • Knowledge about Application Build & Deployment Process
  • Knowledge about Application Infrastructure and Infrastructure capacity assessment/sizing
  • Knowledge about Application Deployment on Virtual environments – VMWare, Citrix
  • Knowledge of Pivotal Cloud Foundry
  • Knowledge of ITOM Systems and Processes
  • Hold Any of the Following:
    • TOGAF Certification
    • J2EE Certification
