Job Description Job Description & Qualifications Ford is seeking to hire a person with embedded software knowledge. The candidate will be responsible for the software in a body module. This means that they would have a detailed knowledge of the functional specification, conduct design review, help resolve vehicle/bread board issues 5+ years of engineering work experience and an understanding of embedded hardware and software design.
Responsibilities include:
Provide project management and technical leadership to the controls and electronics team. Scope projects and identify resource requirements. Developing/reviewing project work plans.
Translate product requirements into control system specifications
Resolve issues and/or ambiguities found in specifications during the vehicle development cycle.
Work with the FSS software team explaining software requirements.
Design state diagrams in Visio and develop Matlab Simulink models.
Conduct software design review with Suppliers.
Support vehicle launch
Generate functional specifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering field
1+ years of Embedded hardware and/or software design
3+ years of engineering work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
1+ years of working with CAN and/or LIN vehicle networks
1+ years of Project Management Experience
Familiarity with Teamcenter VSEM, JIRA, and Github
Familiarity with CANalyzer, AutoSar, and Functional Safety
Experience with Matlab and Stateflow
Knowledge of control theory and algorithm design via truth tables and finite state machines
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
Experience in working with and/or for an electronics control manufacturer
5+ years of engineering work experience
