Position Description/Overview:

The Labor Communications Coordinator is a key contributor to the Ford Manufacturing and Labor team’s efforts. The coordinator researches, assists in developing media assets and background materials, tracks workflow progress and much more – including interfacing with media – as the company moves toward 2019 labor negotiations.



Responsibilities:
  • Research information and background as needed.
  • Assist in the creation, updating and presentation of labor communications plans and materials.
  • Assist in development of materials for internal and external use.
  • Coordinate with internal and agency team members to track and manage workflow progress.
  • May interface with media related to labor negotiations.
  • Up to 10 percent of work time can be dedicated to travel.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ months prior experience in journalism, communications or public relations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or related field
  • Excellent written and oral communications, analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Proven track record of working independently and managing projects.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and interpersonal communications skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to think creatively, solve problems and follow through under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build consensus across multiple, cross-functional disciplines to deliver results.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel); familiar with SharePoint.
