Position Description/Overview

We are seeking exceptional candidates to join our growing autonomous vehicle (AV) business team! Autonomous vehicles are an important part of Ford’s future and we are looking for the best and brightest. The role will require critical thinking, problem solving capabilities, and a “get it done” attitude to help make strategic decisions that will enable Ford to be a leader in autonomy, connectivity, mobility, customer experience, and analytics. As the Miami Operations Manager, you plan and execute business pilot activities with multiple external partners across different commercial applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop relationships with potential customers to understand their businesses, operations and needs. Work to stand up new businesses and pilots in Miami to offer to customers.
  • Execute tactical, day-to-day activities in the greater Miami area related to pilot projects pertaining to autonomous vehicles
  • Present new and emerging business pilot ideas to potential partners in advance of actual launches in a manner that gauges real demand to help the Company make the best investment decisions on pilot project investments
  • Demonstrate initiative and self-governance as a remote member of the team, proactively soliciting new business partners, addressing issues, and managing time for the most efficient and effective outcomes
  • Always operating with a spirit of collaboration, engage in regular discourse with Company leadership to ensure effective and efficient communications and key milestone reviews
  • Maintain constant dialogue with pilot execution teams, including external pilot partner to address any issues as they arise with minimal delay and rapid problem solving iterations
  • Communicate pilot learnings and results to the AV leadership team, and engage in cross-functional discourse, brainstorming, and business planning to further the overall AV business strategy
  • Challenge actively (constructively) and voice relevant concerns
Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of experience in customer relationship management, such as marketing, sales, business development or market expansion

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree in Operations Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering or MBA with 5+ years in a related role
  • Experience working in start-up or technology environment
  • Experience leading project and/or software development teams in an agile environment is highly desired
  • Superior presentation skills, both in person and written correspondence
  • Excellent project leadership skills to drive topics with multiple stakeholders/interest
  • Ability to confidently communicate and assist in effective negotiation with external partners
  • Know when and how to communicate (email, presentation, face to face, collaboration tools, etc.) to maintain alignment between team members, project executives and project stakeholders in a dynamic, geographically distributed and culturally diverse organization
  • Comfortable escalating issues while maintaining positive relationships with team members and other organizations
  • Ability to influence peers, internal customers and executives to gain acceptance of program solutions
  • A valid driving license is required, as the position will be highly mobile and involve driving to multiple sites daily
