Ford’s Safety Electronics team designs and develops hardware and functional models that provide Best in Class behavior for features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist and 360 Camera Systems.

We are seeking seasoned professionals who can contribute to our efforts with experience in the development of sensors, ECUs, models and software. This position is focused on engineer who will define the software development process for a central ADAS ECU for DAT2.0 (Driver Assistance Technologies 2.0), but could also involve other elements of the process because we are seeking to add high quality people to the team rather than trying to squeeze engineers into a specific role.

Responsibilities:
  • Document the development process for the features and software for the ADAS ECU
  • Work closely with the feature engineers, software engineers, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers to understand the software development on DAT2.0
  • Work with the Central SW teams and other tool support teams at Ford to understand the tools that they support for DAT2.0
  • Develop requirements for the usage of the tools on DAT2.0
  • Support the work of the software project manager from the process aspects of workplan definition
  • Support resolution of tool and process related issues.
  • Cascade the process to the feature engineers and software engineers.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Controls or Software Engineering
  • 3+ years software architecture development experience
  • 3+ years Embedded software design experience in C/++ and Matlab/Simulink
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with feature model integration or software development
  • Understanding of embedded hardware and software design
  • Control algorithm development using Matlab, Simulink or equivalent and in C/C++
  • Understanding of version control, unit test, data dictionary, calibration and other tools for model and SW development.
  • Software architecture, modular application development with Model/software, strong embedded experience, developing production algorithm experience
  • Experience with the AUTOSAR operating system and software development processes
  • Experience with QNX and software development processes
  • Experience with Infineon Aurix
  • Experience with ADAS System on chip devices and vision processors.
