Ford’s Safety Electronics team designs and develops hardware and functional models that provide Best in Class behavior for features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist and 360 Camera Systems.

We are seeking seasoned professionals who can contribute to our efforts with experience in the development of sensors, ECUs, models and software. This position is focused on the Software architect for a central ADAS ECU for DAT2.0 (Driver Assistance Technologies 2.0), but could also involve other elements of the process because we are seeking to add high quality people to the team rather than trying to squeeze engineers into a specific role.

Responsibilities:
  • Define software architecture for Aurix micro in the ADAS ECU
  • Work closely with the hardware engineers during software architecture development
  • Manage software architecture with the tier 1 supplier, tier 2 feature suppliers and internal feature owners for DAT2.0 features
  • Define and manage the architecture for cybersecurity, over the air updates, service-oriented architecture and data analytics
  • Develop requirements for the software architecture and cascade to the software and model developers
  • Support the work of the software project manager to define and deliver architecture work products per the planned timelines
  • Support overall Model integration
  • Support resolution of architecture-related issues.
  • Support model peer reviews of existing and modified feature models and software
  • Support the SW verification and validation teams to establish test strategies to achieve suitable coverage along the right side of the systems Vee.
  • Support Sign off of Feature Level performance for a given vehicle
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Controls or Software Engineering
  • 3+ years software architecture development experience
  • 3+ years Embedded software design experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with radar/camera/ultrasonics or feature model integration or software development
  • Understanding of embedded hardware and software design
  • Control algorithm development using Matlab, Simulink or equivalent and in C/C++
  • Software architecture, modular application development with Model/software, strong embedded experience, autocoding, developing production algorithm experience
  • Experience with Infineon Aurix
  • Experience with the AUTOSAR operating system and software development processes
  • Experience with ADAS System on chip devices and vision processors.
