Position Duties
- Prepare and maintain ISO 26262 Functional Safety work products for the Electric Drive (eDrive) Systems team including: Item definition, Hazard Analysis (HARA), Functional Safety Concept and the Safety Requirements Specification
- Interface with hardware and software engineering teams to ensure proper cascade / allocation of functional and technical safety requirements
- Assist application teams assess supplier Functional Safety work product documentation for completeness
- Collaborate with Functional Safety teams throughout the company to ensure consistent application of the ISO 26262 standard
- Prepare and present project status reports at team / management reviews
- Establish self as the go-to person within the eDrive team for assessing new technologies against the corporate aligned Functional Safety process
- B.S. in Engineering
- 1+ years system engineering experience (coursework allowed)
- 1+ years of experience capturing requirements and developing engineering specifications (coursework allowed)
- M.S. Engineering
- Working knowledge of Hybrid / xEV powertrain systems
- Systems modeling (SysML/MATLAB/Simulink) experience
- Prior experience applying the ISO 26262 standard to automotive safety projects or similar safety standards in a non-automotive industry
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, self-motivated, eager to take responsibility and deliver results with minimal supervision
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
