Job Description Position Title: Ford Credit-Software Engineer
Overview:
Ford IT is growing an organization focused on delivering software leveraging eXtreme Programming and cloud technology. In this environment, the Software Engineer is expected to work in a pair developing working, tested code based on proven Lean/Agile methods. Engineers on the team work across the full stack of technologies to enable the highest priority work to be delivered.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for translating desired business capabilities into solution concepts and models and their requirements (functional and technical)
Lead implementations – ensuring consistency of multiple work stream & resources
Experience and/or interest in Test Driven Development (TDD) and agile methodologies
Configuration and design to meet customer business needs
Knowledge transfer/Training to customers and partners on solution implemented
Facilitation of requirements gathering
Providing technical support as and when needed
Conducting problem resolution via collection of performance
Adhere to all Ford/Ford Credit processes, tools and methodologies
Adhere to all security and control, Sarbanes-Oxley, Application Control Review (ACR) updates and change control processes
Candidate must be willing to travel for up to 12 weeks upon start date for an initial immersion into technologies, techniques and pairing
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field of study
2 + years of experience as a developer
2+ years of experience with Ruby, HTML5, Angular.JS, Python, Golang and/or Java programming languages
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong Object Oriented development background in either web or mobile technologies
Strong knowledge of Rails and/or Spring frameworks -OR- Strong knowledge of Swift or Objective-C -OR- Strong knowledge of Xcode
Experience cooperating closely with other technical experts, Product Managers, UI/UX Designers and business stakeholders
Experience in test first development and pair programming
Experience in web front-end development; JavaScript, client-side MVC frameworks
Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools and pipelines
Experience deploying to cloud environments
