The Road to Better
THE ROAD TO BETTER
Saving billions of gallons of water. Working to reduce waste to zero. Incorporating sustainable materials in our vehicles. Transitioning more of our manufacturing to renewable, carbon free electricity. It’s going to take some work. But that’s what we do best. This is the road we’re on at Ford. The Road To Better.
THE ROAD TO A MORE INCLUSIVE, EQUITABLE SOCIETY
We want to help build a more just society. We are resolved to preserve or create the conditions that people need to thrive.

CREATING A CULTURE OF INCLUSION
Ford is creating a culture where our team members are valued, respected and can bring their true selves to work — empowering our people to help transform our business.

SUPPORTING A JUST TRANSITION
Ford supports a just transition by preparing our workforce and local communities for the transition to EVs, including investing more than $525 million to train the next generation of auto technicians.

HELPING COMMUNITIES THRIVE
Since 1949, Ford and Ford Fund have invested more than $2.2 billion in initiatives that are met, provide access to essential services, help build new skillsets and open pathways to high-quality jobs.
THE ROAD TO A HEALTHIER PLANET
Everyone should experience the benefits of clean air, clean water and clean transportation. Our investments in electric vehicles are fueling our transition to carbon neutrality and achieving a positive impact on people and the planet.

ACCELERATING OUR PROGRESS TO CARBON NEUTRALITY
We are taking action to achieve carbon neutrality no later than 2050, and in Europe no later than 2035, focusing on three areas that account for approximately 95% of our carbon emissions: our vehicles, operations and supply chain.

INVESTING IN RENEWABLE ELECTRICITY
We are moving toward 100% carbon-free electricity globally and bringing more renewable energy onto the grid — in 2022, more than 60% of electricity for our global operations was carbon-free.

Creating a Carbon Neutral Supply Chain
Ford is the first U.S. automaker to bring our global supply chain to Manufacture 2030 to help our suppliers meet their carbon reduction targets, and joined the First Movers Coalition to help commercialize zero-carbon technologies.
THE ROAD TO PROGRESS
Our work in product development, electrification and connectivity will make EVs safe and affordable for all. At the same time, we remain committed to improving fuel economy, reducing emissions and innovating across our entire portfolio of vehicles.

LEADING THE TRANSITION TO EVS
From the Mustang Mach-E to F-150 Lightning and the E-Transit, driving a Ford EV that is charged using U.S. grid-average electricity can reduce lifetime carbon dioxide emissions by as much as 55-60% compared to driving a similar internal combustion engine vehicle.

IMPROVING OUR VEHICLES
In addition to EVs, a full range of fuel-efficient internal combustion, plug-in hybrid and traditional hybrid engine vehicles give our customers lower emissions options as we build the path toward carbon neutral transportation.

BUILDING OUR CHARGING NETWORK
We’re making the shift to electric vehicles easy with FordPass and the BlueOvalTM Charging Network, giving EV drivers access to over 26,000 charging stations with 84,000 plugs in North America and over 450,000 plugs in Europe.
THE ROAD TO SUSTAINABLE GROWTH
We will make progress only when we work together. At Ford, we are collaboration-driven, and we strive to act with transparency, integrity and honesty. This is the foundation of the trust we build with our employees, our customers and suppliers, our shareholders and our communities.

RESPECTING HUMAN RIGHTS
We’ve built partnerships with Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance, the Responsible Supply Chain Initiative, Drive Sustainability and the Responsible Business Alliance to prioritize environmental and social responsibility across our supply chain.

ACHIEVING CARBON NEUTRALITY
Ford is proud to be one of the first U.S. automakers to align with the international community to limit global warming as part of the Paris Climate Agreement and joined RouteZero, a coalition working towards 100% zero-emission cars and vans globally by 2040, and in leading markets no later than 2035.

SUPPORTING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Ford has been a signatory of the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals since 2016, and is supporting a pilot program that will promote responsible mineral sourcing and empower women working in the copper and cobalt supply chains in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
