ELLIOTT SADLER, No. 19 Stanley Ford Fusion (Qualified 11th) – ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN “We struggled a little when we unloaded and the guys made some good changes. I feel really good about that run. That is the best the car has been all day and that is a good time to have that. We are racing for a million dollars this weekend so we want to have a good starting spot. That should put us somewhere in the top 15 or 16.”
AJ ALLMENDINGER, No. 43 Best Buy Ford Fusion (Qualified 26th) – ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN “It wasn’t good. I don’t know what happened out there but we were not very good. This place confuses me sometimes. We just need to be better than that. I don’t think weather played into it because Kurt Busch just ran a 37.8, we aren’t even close.”
KASEY KAHNE, No. 9 Budweiser Ford Fusion (Qualified 4th) - ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN “It felt good. I think the car was balanced really well and the engine ran well. I was happy with it, especially for not doing a qualifying run in practice. The guys did a good job. I felt like that was a good lap, it was a very solid lap.”
CARL EDWARDS, No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion (Qualified 19th)- ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN “We just have to be a little faster. This race has been very good to us, and this qualifying is just one lap, that is the good news. We are motivated, trust me. We want to win for Ford this weekend for sure. We will go work on this thing tomorrow in race trim. I am a terrible qualifier here historically, so we will just keep our heads down and keep working at it for Sunday.”
PAUL MENARD, No. 98 Menards Ford Fusion (Qualified 22nd)- ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN “We really struggled in practice and tried to go back to how we unloaded and the car ended up better “I had a really good one and two and drove it is a little hard on three, then I killed it on four. Hopefully we get two practices in tomorrow. I screwed up today. The car Is a lot better than that. Hopefully we get practice in tomorrow.”
DAVID RAGAN, No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion (Qualified 14th) ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN - “That’s a little bit of a pickup from where we were for practice. The temperature definitely went up and it’s as hot as its been right now. We can’t be too upset with that run, but you always want to be faster. We’re definitely confident about our UPS Ford going into the race on Sunday.”
TRAVIS KVAPIL, No. 38 Long John Silver’s Ford Fusion (Qualified 34th) - ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN “It is a good feeling to qualify on time. It has been a long week. I am very proud of my team for getting us in the position to qualify. It got pretty hot out there all of a sudden, which affected the track a little bit, but we were able to overcome that and get in. I am looking forward to the race on Sunday.”
BILL ELLIOTT, No. 21 FordParts.com Ford Fusion (Qualified 28th) – ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN “It feels good. The guys worked hard and put a good car under me. It is always a task to get through these qualifying days, especially with where we are at in points. We will see what Sunday brings. Qualifying is one thing, but we will go through tomorrow and figure out where we stack up for Sunday. I am definitely looking forward to the race though.”
