OAKVILLE, Ontario, May 3, 2010 – Sales at Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited increased 24.5 per cent compared to last April led by strong sales results across the lineup. Strong results of the Ford Taurus, Fusion, Edge and total Lincoln sales led to the overall increase in sales for April.
"Consumers are finding what they're looking for in our new products, helping us to deliver profitable, sustainable growth in Canada," said David Mondragon, president and CEO, Ford of Canada.
In fact, Ford Motor Company now has the highest customer satisfaction with vehicle quality among all major automakers, according to the first quarter Global Quality Research System (GQRS) study conducted by RDA Group of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
Helping to keep sales growing are the many new products, including the all-new 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty -- in showrooms now -- as well as the Ford Fiesta, Focus, Edge, Explorer, Transit Connect Electric, Lincoln MKX and the brand's first luxury hybrid vehicle, the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid midsize sedan, all coming out this year.
Ford of Canada has also launched several new programs available to consumers May 1.
Due to positive consumer feedback, Ford is expanding its Recycle Your Ride program where consumers can now turn in 2003 model year (or older) vehicles (of any make) for retirement and qualify to receive up to $3,000 towards the purchase of a new 2010 Ford or Lincoln vehicle. Previous retirement programs were limited to 1995 model year (or older) vehicles. Ford's Exclusive Recycle Your Ride program is in addition to the $300 available from Retire Your Ride, a program funded by the Government of Canada (1995 model year or older vehicles).
"The Ford Exclusive Recycle Your Ride program makes it more affordable for consumers to purchase a new vehicle, which offers the latest in safety features, fuel economy and smart technologies," said Mondragon.
Also offered May 1, Ford of Canada has announced the "Ford 5-0 Event" where consumers can get $0 first month’s payment, 0 per cent APR purchase financing for up to 60 months, $0 down payment, $0 due at delivery, or $0 security deposit towards the purchase finance or lease of select new 2010 Ford vehicles.
