News CenterDAVID RAGAN READIES FOR SUNDAY’S RACE AT POCONO
DAVID RAGAN – No. 6 Ford Fusion – WHAT IS ON TODAY’S “TO DO” LIST AS FAR AS THE TWO PRACTICES ARE CONCERNED? “For us to get ready for the race, to work on our race setup. How fast can we go on new tires? And, how much do we drop off once we run a certain amount of laps? So, we’re just trying to run through some changes, get as many laps as we can get, and, ultimately, to have more look at on Sunday when we go to make changes.”
BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER YESTERDAY, AND THE CANCELLATION OF THE QUALIFYING SESSION, DO TODAY’S PRACTICES TAKE ON A LITTLE ADDED SIGNIFICANCE AS COMPARED TO A USUAL SATURDAY? “Oh, yeah. Anytime you don’t get the full amount of laps on Friday, Saturday is more important. But, a lot of guys spend a lot of Friday just in qualifying trim, so it hasn’t hurt anybody, I don’t think, that much because we’re all in the same boat, we’ve all got the same number of laps, and we did get some laps on Friday. I feel like our UPS Ford was good yesterday when we unloaded. We’ve made some changes, and we’ll keep looking at it, and I’m sure that we’ll throw a lot at it this second practice, and just try to get some good notes.”
FUEL MILEAGE CAN BE A FACTOR. IS THAT SOMETHING, TOO, THAT YOU’LL LOOK AT TODAY? “Yes, we’ll take some fuel-mileage readings after we come in, so we know what we have. Also, it’ll be different today than it will be tomorrow, if the weather’s different, plus racing in traffic. We look for speed, we look for handling, and hopefully the fuel mileage will just take care of itself.”
