New Ka Price of €8,495 Marks 20-Year Low for New Ford Car Price
Cork, 9 December 2009 – Ford has welcomed the Budget announcement of a car scrappage scheme by offering an additional €1,500 discount on the Ford Ka. This brings down the price of the model to just €8,495 – the lowest price for a Ford car in Ireland in over 20 years.
Applying to cars within the A and B VRT bands, the budget scrappage scheme covers the Ka and popular Fiesta models, as well as the best-selling Focus 1.6 TDCi and the low-emission Mondeo Econetic.
“The Minister has to be commended on the new scrappage scheme which will be a boost to employment in our industry,” said Eddie Murphy, Chairman and Managing Director of Ford Ireland. “It will also bring significant environmental benefits as older, more polluting cars will be taken off the road in favour of frugal, ultra-low emission models like our Ka”.
“For our part, we have endeavoured to make a new 2010 car more accessible to anyone who has put off a purchase over the last 12 to 24 months. So, on top of the government rebate of €1,500 scrappage, we will provide an additional discount of €1,500 off the price of a new Ka, making this spritely, fuel-frugal car available for the ultra-low price of €8,495.”
The special Ka 2010 scrappage discount is available from participating Ford dealers nationwide.
