DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 8, 2008 – NBC's highly anticipated new comedy, "Kath & Kim," is joining Ford Warriors in Pink in the fight against breast cancer.

"We wholeheartedly support breast cancer awareness and finding a cure, and are proud to be affiliated with Ford's Warriors in Pink program," said Teri Weinberg, executive vice president, NBC Entertainment. "Although we have introduced a humorous element, we fully recognize and respect the strength and courage it takes to deal with the everyday challenges of fighting breast cancer."

Starting October 9, the stars of "Kath & Kim," Molly Shannon and Selma Blair, will be featured in a national print advertising campaign designed to raise awareness of breast cancer and emphasize the importance of early detection. In the ads, the stars will be wearing Ford Warriors in Pink apparel, which is available at www.fordcares.com. All of the net proceeds from apparel sales go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.

A special episode of "Kath & Kim" will air October 16 at 8:30 p.m. EST. In the closing segment of that show, "Kath & Kim" will encourage viewers to become Warriors against breast cancer and generate passion for the cause.

Also during the October 16 episode, viewers will have the chance to "Watch and Win" the same 2009 Warriors in Pink Mustang that Molly Shannon's character will drive throughout the entire season of "Kath & Kim." The 2009 Warriors in Pink Mustang is a limited-edition Ford vehicle designed exclusively in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. For each sale of the car, Ford donates $500 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

"The partnership with Ford Warriors in Pink and NBC's ‘Kath & Kim' provides a creative way to extend the message and importance of early detection," said Connie Fontaine, manager, Ford Brand Content and Alliances. "The more people watch, the more we are able to increase awareness and raise funds through our apparel to help find a cure."

In conjunction with the October 16 episode, Ford has organized more than 1,000 Warriors in Pink "House Parties" across the nation where friends and family will gather together to watch "Kath & Kim." Recent Ford buyers who have been affected by breast cancer will host the parties, which are designed to inspire others to support the cause.

Over the years, Ford Motor Company has dedicated more than $95 million in cash and in-kind contributions to breast cancer education and research. The company's goal for 2008 is to donate more than $1 million to Susan G. Komen for the Cure through the sale of Warriors in Pink Mustangs, apparel and other fundraising efforts. Ford has served as a National Series Sponsor of Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure since 1994. More than 100 races are held throughout the year in various parts of the country.
