Oakville-built Ford Flex wins a prestigious AJAC "Best New CUV" award
October Highlights:- Ford Escape sales increased 1%
- Lincoln vehicles realized a 1% sales increase last month
- Lincoln MKZ sales were up 74%
- Ford crossover sales rose 0.3% in October
OAKVILLE, Ontario, November 3, 2008 – October sales at Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited were boosted by sales of crossovers, which continue to represent Canada's fastest growing segment in the industry. Also in October, the next generation of Canada's perennial favourite pickup, 2009 Ford F-150, began arriving in showrooms.

"The most capable Ford F-150 yet raises the bar with improvements in fuel economy, while featuring second-to-none toughness and a host of smart, game-changing features that we believe customers will love."
Also last month, Ford Flex, the Oakville-built crossover that offers space, towing ability and great fuel economy was awarded the coveted "Best New CUV ($35,000 - $60,000)" title by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada, proving that Ford's innovative design is moving with the pulse of consumer preferences.
In October, Ford of Canada's overall sales decreased 10.3 per cent to 15,160 units. Total truck sales were down 10.8 per cent at 11,612 units and total car sales of 3,548 units mark an 8.6 per cent decrease compared to last October.
