COLIN BRAUN – No. 6 Con-way Freight Ford F-150 (Finished 20th) – “We struggled all day. We started out in practice and just fought being free the whole day. We fought being free in practice. We threw a setup out there for the race and I guess we just didn’t get it right. I can’t fault my crew chief, Mike Beam, for it. He worked really hard and my guys did a great job. They threw everything they had at it there, but I guess some days you just miss it and other days you get it right.”
ERIK DARNELL – No. 99 Northern Tool + Supply Ford F-150 (Finished 6th) – “That wasn’t too bad. Our Northern Tool + Equipment Ford was pretty decent today. I thought in practice this morning we had the truck a little bit better, but once we started the race it wasn’t as good as I thought it was. I can’t say enough about everybody on this whole Northern Tool + Equipment pit crew. The guys did an awesome job on pit road today. We gained spots everytime we came down. I feel like I kind of let them down a little bit on the race track, but I was just trying to drive my butt off and keep it up there. It seemed like the truck was different every lap. It felt like I had front grip and then I’d lose it and be sideways coming off the corner. It was just a little bit of a handful today, but sixth-place is a decent run, especially the way our last two weeks have gone at Martinsville and Talladega. Hopefully that will help us out in the points and get us back up there in the top five.”
RICK CRAWFORD – No. 14 PowerStroke Diesel by Int’l Ford F-150 (Finished 12th) – “We just had handling issues and tire grip. Our Ford F-150 PowerStroke Diesel by International was built Ford tough. I tried to knock down the wall coming off turn two toward the later stages of the race while I was trying to make up some positions and it just kept on plugging. To come out of here with a 12th with the grip factor that we had, I’m proud of my guys because they did a good job. I still enjoyed the day even though I turned right more than I did left.”
TRAVIS KVAPIL – No. 09 Zaxby’s Ford F-150 (Finished 11th) – “The guys in the pits did a great job. They got me out in sixth-place one time, but the truck was just OK. We were like a sixth to 10th place truck. The last restart I got behind some lappers and lost track position. I lost my momentum and had to check up, so a couple of guys got around me, so I’m kind of disappointed because we should have been in the top 10. I feel like I gave up a couple spots on the restart, but the truck was really, really loose to start off the race and we made some huge adjustments and still battled back up through there, so it wasn’t too bad.”
