The computer has come to influence nearly every aspect of American life during the last half of the twentieth century. The museum focuses on the development of the computer as a consumer item with a collection of approximately 40 computers, almost exclusively personal computers suitable for use at home or in the office. In addition, the collection includes peripheral equipment such as printers and disc drives, software, manuals, and original packaging. The earliest equipment dates from 1970 and the latest from 1999. |
