Shuttle Buses

The Ford E-Series Super Duty Cutaway has long been the “chassis of choice” of shuttle bus customers and builders. Shuttle buses provide comfort, convenience, maneuverability, safety, versatility and value for the dollar—the same attributes that make E-Series the sales leader in this segment.

Shuttle Buses: A Growing Segment

Also known as “mid-size” or “transit” buses, shuttle buses are typically less than 40 feet in length, accommodate 14 to 30 passengers, and are built to serve a variety of specific functions.

With today’s changing demographics, increasing traffic congestion and greater need for transit solutions, the role of the shuttle bus should continue to increase for years to come.

Shuttle bus customers place a high emphasis on passenger comfort, window viewing space and ease of access. Shuttle buses must be maneuverable in city and suburban traffic and be able to seat large numbers of passengers with versatile seating plans. Shuttle buses are often equipped with lowered-floor options and ADA-compliant wheelchair lifts to accommodate passengers with special needs.

Another advantage of shuttle buses (depending on bus size) is that they often do not require a Commercial Driver’s License.
